BOARD OF TRUSTEES

November14, 2022

The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session November14, 2022 at 7:40 p.m. in the Allen Village Office.   Chairman Jay Jones called the meeting to order with Trustees Judy Nice, Brett Koeppe, Doug Ellis, and Dean Chase answering roll.  Also present were Larry Boswell, Nicole Johnson, Rick Chase and Clerk Jean Rahn.  Chairman Jones informed the audience where to find the posted copy of the Open Meetings Act.  Motion made by Ellis seconded by Koeppe to approve the minutes of the last meeting.  All present voted aye, motion carried.  Motion made by Koeppe, seconded by Nice to accept the treasurers’ report as read.  All present voted aye, motion carried. The following bills were presented for approval US Treasury – 2297.02, taxes, NNPPD –1609.25, elec., NNTC – 205.29, tele/internet, sup, L.P Gill – 857.01, landfill, Nebraska Journal Leader – 35.57, pub, Nebraska Public Health Lab –33.00, tests, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 396.86, tax, Payroll Salaries – 9176.50, wages, Countryside Gas & Grocery – 768.50, fuel, sup., One Call Concepts – 2.40, locates, Chestermans –7.00, water, Post Office – 384.00, postage, Johnson & Mock – 78.00, legal, Cardmember Services – 85.10, postage, Cardmember Services – 120.89 – sup., Topkote -25,125.00, rep. Laurel Ace Hardware – 29.12. sup, John Deere Financial – 17427.73, pmt, CNA Surety – 255.00, bond, Collision & Kustoms – 6215.43, rep., Bruce Malcom – 110.00, dep, Municipal Supply – 3207.66, sup, Anderson & Anderson – 3325.00, ins. Motion made by Nice, seconded by Ellis to pay the bills as listed.   All present voted aye, motion carried.

Update was given on the Dixon County jail and courthouse project.  A picture of new welcome sign that being donated to the Village was presented.  Motion by Ellis, seconded by Chase to allow the chairman to sign the lease agreements for the new signs.  All present voted aye, motion carried.

Resolution #8-2022 was read:  Resolution for signing of the Year-End Certification of City Superintendent form 2022.  Motion made by Chase, seconded by Koeppe to adopt Resolution #8-2022 and allow Chairman Jones to sign the form certifying that Terry Mead of JEO was our Street Superintendent for the January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022.  All present voted aye, motion carried.

Discussion was held on Thanksgiving Holiday garbage pickup.  Garbage will be picked up on Monday November 28th instead of Friday the 25th.

Chase made a motion to go into executive session to discuss personnel at 8:35 p.m., seconded by Nice.  Chairman Jones declared out of executive session at 8:47 p.m.

Being no further business, Nice made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Koeppe.  All present voted aye, motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 8:48 p.m.  The Board of Trustees of the Village of Allen, Nebraska will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. on December 12, 2022 in the Village Office.
