BOARD OF TRUSTEES
May 8, 2023
The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session May 8, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Village Office. Chairman Jay Jones called the meeting to order with Trustees Brett Koeppe and Dean Chase answering roll. Absent – Judy Nice and Doug Ellis. Also present were Anthony Guenther from USDA, Roger Protzman from JEO, Baylor, Bestgen from JEO, Rick Chase, Gunner Tracy and Clerk Jean Rahn. Chairman Jones informed the audience where to find the posted copy of the Open Meetings Act. Motion made by Koeppe, seconded by Chase to approve the minutes of the last meeting. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Chase, seconded by Koeppe to accept the treasurers’ report as read. All present voted aye, motion carried. The following bills were presented for approval US Treasury – 3005.92 taxes, NNPPD –1628.75 elec., NNTC – 206.56, tele/internet, Aramark – 93.08 rugs, L.P Gill – 807.33 landfill, Nebraska Journal Leader – 45.35 pub, Nebraska Public Health Lab – 65.00 tests, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 384.22 tax, Payroll Salaries – 13156.61 wages, Countryside Gas & Groc – 456.15 fuel, Chesterman –7.00 water, Bader Highway & Streets – 7768.00 rep, One Call Concepts – 1.60 locates, Cornhusker Press – 76.70 tags, NENEDD – 665.00 dues, L.G. Everest – 826.41 rock, NENE Clerks Assn – 20.00dues, Butch’s Propane – 449.85 propane, Allen Comm. Club – 35.00 dues, Laurel Ace Hardware – 56.91 sup, LARM – 82.19 audit, Miller Lumber 0 135.72, sup, Cardmember Services – 276.20 postage and prof. Motion made by Koeppe, seconded by Chase to pay the bills as listed. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Anthony Guenther of USDA explained the funding options for the Village water issue. Roger Protzman of JEO also gave information on the project.
Baylor Bestgen of JEO explained the street program for this next year.
Discussion was held on fluoride in the Village water, was tabled until next month.
Rick Chase gave his resignation effective May 31, 2023. Motion by Chase, seconded by Koeppe to accept his resignation. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Being no further business, Koeppe made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Chase. All present voted aye, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:43 p.m. The Board of Trustees of the Village of Allen, Nebraska will meet in regular session at 7:30 on June 12, 2023 in the Village Office.
