VILLAGE OF ALLEN
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
March 11, 2024

The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session March 11, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Village Office.   Chairman Jay Jones called the meeting to order with Trustees Judy Nice, Dean Chase, and Derick Nice answering roll. Absent – Brett Koeppe.  Also present Clerk Jean Rahn.  Chairman Jones informed the audience where to find the posted copy of the Open Meetings Act.  Motion made by J. Nice seconded by D. Nice to approve the minutes of the last meeting.  All voted aye, motion carried.  Motion made by D. Nice, seconded by J. Nice to accept the treasurers’ report as read.  All voted aye, motion carried. The following bills were presented for approval US Treasury – 2095.82, taxes, NNPPD –1776.36, elec., NNTC – 207.58, tele/internet, Aramark – 113.46, rugs, L.P Gill – 692.71, landfill, Nebraska Journal Leader – 82.46, pub, Nebraska Public Health Lab – 33.00, tests, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 381.83, tax, Payroll Salaries – 10194.88, wages, Countryside Gas & Grocery – 442.46, fuel, Chestermans –7.00, water, Butch’s Propane – 1561.03, propane, Nick Curnyn Maint. Service – 40.00, ser, Share Corp – 1821.26, chem/sup, Johnson & Mock – 123.00, legal, ClerkBooks Inc. – 164.30, sup, Daniel Schwindt – 170.00 prof, NE NE Clerks Assn – 20.00, dues, Doug Ellis – 100.00 dep, Randy Sullivan – 100.00, dep, Alpine Lawn – 1400.00 spraying, Allen Community Club – 35.00, due, Allen School – 210.00, lic, Cardmember Service – 378.75, postage/sup/fuel. Motion made by D. Chase, seconded by D. Nice to pay the bills as listed.   All voted aye, motion carried.
Discussion was held on removal of dumpsters.
A revised flood plain ordinance was discussed.  Motion by D. Nice, seconded by J. Nice to summit the new ordinance for approval to FEMA before adopting it.  All voted aye, motion carried.
Other items discussed were trailers parking on street for extended periods of time, utility bills, ATV/Quads racing around town, and dogs running at large.
Derick Nice left the meeting at 8:30 p.m.
Being no further business, D. Chase made a motion to adjourn, seconded by J. Nice.  All voted aye, motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 8:46 p.m.  The Board of Trustees of the Village of Allen, Nebraska will meet in regular session at 7:30 p.m. April 8, 2024 in the Village Office.
