BOARD OF TRUSTEES
July 10, 2023
The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session July 10, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Village Office. In the absence of Chairman Jones, a motion was made by Judy Nice, seconded by Brett Koeppe to appoint Doug Ellis as Chairman Pro-tempore. Chairman Pro-tempore Ellis called the meeting to order with Judy Nice and Brett Koeppe answering roll. Absent –Jay Jones and Dean Chase. Also present were Gunner Tracy and Clerk Jean Rahn. Chairman Pro-tempore Ellis informed the audience where to find the posted copy of the Open Meetings Act. Motion by Koeppe, seconded by Nice to approve the minutes of the last meeting. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Nice, seconded by Koeppe to accept the treasurers’ report as read. All present voted aye, motion carried. The following bills were presented for approval US Treasury – 2317.28 taxes, NNPPD –1823.14 elec., NNTC – 207.32 tele/internet, Aramark – 113.46 rugs, L.P Gill – 931.77 landfill, Nebraska Journal Leader – 56.41 pub, Nebraska Public Health Lab – 274.00 tests, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 431.81 tax, Payroll Salaries – 11178.62 wages, Countryside Gas & Groc. – 752.19 fuel, Chesterman –7.00 water, One Call Concepts – 3.58 locates, , Topkote – 29998.21 rep, Rod’s Repair – 92.18 rep, Security Bank – 17.88 box rent, NeRWA – 250.00 dues, Spahr Electric – 300.00, rep, CSL – 861.99 chem., Butch’s Propane 629.73, propane, Hawkins Inc – 668.44, chem, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 1293.30, tax, Miller Lumber – 6.79, sup, DEE – 647.33 pmt, Midwest Lab – 25.38, test, Robertson Imp – 611.26 tools & rep., Laurel Ace Hardware – 96.30, sup, Cardmember Services – 227.83, sup, Cardmember Services – tools and postage. Motion made by Koeppe, seconded by Nice to pay the bills as listed. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Resolution # 2-2023 was presented: WHEREAS, The Village of Allen is a member of the League Association of Risk Management(LARM); WHEREAS , Section 8.10 of the Interlocal Agreement for the Establishment and Operation of the League Association of Risk Management provides that a member may voluntarily terminate its participation in LARM by written notice of termination given to LARM and the Nebraska Director of Insurance at least 90 days prior to the desired termination given to and the members may agree to extend the required termination notice beyond 90 days in order to realize reduced excess coverage costs, stability of contribution rates and efficiency in operation of LARM; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of LARM has adopted a plan to provide contribution credits in consideration of certain agreements by members of LARM as provided in the attached letter. Motion by Nice, seconded by Koeppe to adopt Resolution #2-2023. All present voted aye – motion carried.
Animal control and fluoride tabled until next month.
Other items discussed was mud running onto street and cleanup day.
Being no further business, Nice made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Koeppe. All present voted aye, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:56 p.m. The Board of Trustees of the Village of Allen, Nebraska will meet in regular session at 7:30 on August 14, 2023 in the Village Office.
