VILLAGE OF ALLEN
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
January 9, 2023
The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session January 9, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Village Office. Chairman Jay Jones called the meeting to order with Trustees Judy Nice, Brett Koeppe, and Dean Chase answering roll. Absent – Doug Ellis. Also present were Rick Chase and Clerk Jean Rahn. Chairman Jones informed the audience where to find the posted copy of the Open Meetings Act. Motion made by Koeppe seconded by Nice to approve the minutes of the last meeting. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Chase, seconded by Koeppe to accept the treasurers’ report as read. All present voted aye, motion carried. The following bills were presented for approval US Treasury – 2244.10 taxes, NNPPD –1674.62, elec., NNTC – 207.90, tele/internet, Aramark – 46.45, rugs, L.P Gill – 869.75, landfill, Nebraska Journal Leader – 60.01, pub, Nebraska Public Health Lab – 33.00, tests, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 385.25, tax, Payroll Salaries – 899.80, wages, Chestermans –7.00, water, Dixon County Clerk – 100.00, elec., Spahr Electric – 2331.00, rep., JEO – 600.00, prof, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 1018.69, tax, gWorks – 326.00, sub., Rod’s Repair – 398.65, rep., DED – 645.97, repayment, Miller lumber Co – 75.98, sup., Ekberg Auto – 107.95, rep., Security Bank – 39.52, postage, Cardmember Services – 191.39, postage/fuel, Cardmember Services – 35.18, sup, Justice Fire & Safety – 146.38, serv. Motion made by Nice, seconded by Koeppe to pay the bills as listed. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Discussion was held on grants for water system and flag and Christmas decoration storage.
Gunner Tracy entered the meeting at 7:45. Discussion was held on when he could start work for the Village and water training. He will begin working on February 1st.
Discussion was held on a new utility billing/Quickbooks program. Motion by Chase, seconded by Nice to purchase the ClerkBooks program. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Being no further business, Koeppe made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Nice. All present voted aye, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:22 p.m. The Board of Trustees of the Village of Allen, Nebraska will meet in regular session at 7:30 on February 13, 2023 in the Village Office.
