VILLAGE OF ALLEN
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
February 12, 2024

The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session February 12, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Village Office. In the absence of Chairman Jones, a motion was made by Brett Koeppe, seconded by Judy Nice to appoint Derick Nice as Chairman Pro-tempore. Chairman Pro-tempore Nice called the meeting to order with Judy Nice, Brett Koeppe, and Dean Chase answering roll. Absent –Jay Jones. Also present were Gunner Tracy and Clerk Jean Rahn. Chairman Pro-tempore Nice informed the audience where to find the posted copy of the Open Meetings Act. Motion by Koeppe, seconded by Chase to approve the minutes of the last meeting. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Chase, seconded by J. Nice to accept the treasurers’ report as read. All present voted aye, motion carried. The following bills were presented for approval US Treasury – 2439.28 taxes, NNPPD –1825.62 elec., NNTC – 205.65 tele/internet, Aramark – 113.45 rugs, L.P Gill – 683.70 landfill, Nebraska Journal Leader – 57.30 pub, Nebraska Public Health Lab – 33.00 tests, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 381.03 tax, Payroll Salaries – 11420.01 wages, Countryside Gas & Groc – 1265.37 fuel/sup, Chesterman –7.00 water, One Call Concepts – 1.18 locates, Butch’s Propane – 1184.37, propane, Intuit – 649.00 sub., Nick Curnyn Maintenance Service – 212.00 serv., Agrivision – 588.50 rep, AMGL – 8500.00 serv, Rod’s Repair – 864.01 rep, Graham Tire – 704.00 tires, ClerkBooks Inc. – 1100.00 sub, Cardmember Services – 908.25sup, Cardmember Service – 694.80, postage/fuel, Post Office – 292.00 postage, Allen Fire Dept. – 11900.00 MFO, LARM – 829.73 audit, League of Nebraska Municipalities – 395.00 reg, Cash – 42.90 reim. Motion made by Koeppe, seconded by J. Nice to pay the bills as listed. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Garbage from people who live out of town limits was discussed. Motion by J. Nice not to allow out of town people to bring their garbage into town for disposal, seconded by Koeppe. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Discussion was held on doing garbage service for the Village of Martinsburg. Motion by Koeppe, seconded by J. Nice not to do this. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Discussion was held on snow removal. Motion by J. Nice seconded by Koeppe, not to pay for opening private driveways as that is the property owner responsibility. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Other items discussed were dumpsters and pump house heater. Gunner will get prices of a new heater.
Being no further business, J. Nice made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Koeppe. All present voted aye, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:24 p.m. The Board of Trustees of the Village of Allen, Nebraska will meet in regular session at 7:30 on March 11, 2024 in the Village Office.
