BOARD OF TRUSTEES
February 13, 2023
The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session February 13, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Village Office. Chairman Jay Jones called the meeting to order with Trustees Judy Nice and Dean Chase answering roll. Absent – Doug Ellis and Brett Koeppe. Also present were Gunner Tracy and Clerk Jean Rahn. Chairman Jones informed the audience where to find the posted copy of the Open Meetings Act. Motion made by Chase seconded by Nice to approve the minutes of the last meeting. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Chase, seconded by Nice to accept the treasurers’ report as read. All present voted aye, motion carried. The following bills were presented for approval US Treasury – 2195.40 taxes, NNPPD –1751.45 elec., NNTC – 205.06, tele/internet, Aramark – 93.08 rugs, L.P Gill – 677.79 landfill, Nebraska Journal Leader – 55.50 pub, Nebraska Public Health Lab – 65.00 tests, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 382.41 tax, Payroll Salaries – 8754.40 wages, Countryside Gas & Groc – 1519.44 fuel sup, Chestermans –7.00 water, GWorks – 326.00 sub, Property Exchange – 149.54 dep, Security Bank – 39.52, postage, Post Office – 360.00 postage, Brett Koeppe – 500.00 serv, Share Corp – 605.98, chem, Blue Valley Public Safety, Inc – 1830.00, rep, Daniel Schwindt – 170.00, sub, Allen School – 210.00, fees, League of NE Municipalities – 395.00, training, AMGL – 8000.00, audit, Ekberg Auto – 137.74, sup, Agrivision – 23.24, sup, Cardmember Services – 684.75 sub, Cardmember Services – 558.20 postage/fuel, Allen Waterbury Fire Dept. – 11910.00 MFO, Security Shredding – 35.00 serv, Gunner Tracy – 263.72, mileage/meals, Butch’s Propane – 431.66 propane, NDEE – 260.00 training. Motion made by Nice, seconded by Chase to pay the bills as listed. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Kyle Overturf joined the meeting at 7:45 p.m. via phone and explained the audit.
Discussions were held on storage of flags and Christmas decorations in the Mini mall, streets, nitrate, and a Town Hall meeting. There will be a Town Hall meeting on March 28, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at the Allen Fire Hall.
Discussion was held on updating the tennis court by the school, putting new fencing, hoops, and outdoor surface. More discussion will be held at the March 13th meeting.
Ordinance #2023-1was introduced: AN ORDANIANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF ALLEN, NEBRASKA, ESTABLISHING THE WAGES OF OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ALLEN, NEBRASKA, AS REQUIRED BY SECTION 17-209 OF THE REVISED STATUTES OF THE STATE OF NEBRASKA; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE ORDINANCE SHALL BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT; AND ORDERING THE PUBLICATION OF THE ORDIANCE IN PAMPHLET FORM.
After review, Chase moved that the statutory rules of passage and adoption or Ordinance #2023-1 might be introduced, read, and adopted at the same meeting, seconded by Nice. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Whereupon Nice made a motion, seconded by Chase to adopt Ordinance #2023-1 as read. All present voted aye, motion carried. Whereupon Chairman Jones declared said ordinance approved on its first reading and its title agreed to. A complete copy of Ordinance #2023-1 has been posted and is on file in the Village Office.
Being no further business, Nice made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Chase. All present voted aye, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:57 p.m. The Board of Trustees of the Village of Allen, Nebraska will meet in regular session at 7:30 on March 13, 2023 in the Village Office.
