BOARD OF TRUSTEES
August 8, 2022
The Village Board of Trustees met in regular session August 8, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allen Village Office. I Chairman Jay Jones called the meeting to order with Trustees Judy Nice, Brett Koeppe, and Dean Chase answering roll. Absent – Doug Ellis. Also present were Rick Chase and Clerk Jean Rahn. Chairman Jones informed the audience where to find the posted copy of the Open Meetings Act. Motion made by Koeppe seconded by Chase to approve the minutes of the last meeting. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Chase, seconded by Koeppe to accept the treasurers’ report as read. All present voted aye, motion carried. The following bills were presented for approval US Treasury – 2324.70, taxes, NNPPD –1742.83, elec., NNTC – 204.46, tele/internet Aramark- 86.90, sup, L.P Gill – 857.50, landfill, Nebraska Journal Leader – 525.14, pub, Nebraska Public Health Lab –33.00, tests, Nebraska Dept. of Revenue – 413.23, tax, Payroll Salaries – 9579.71, wages, Countryside Gas & Grocery – 571.30, fuel & sup, One Call Concepts – 5.56, serv., Chestermans –7.00, water, CSL – 1636.57, chem., Johnson Mock – 39.00, legal, Petty Cash – 44.13, postage, Hawkins Inc – 613.10, chem, Eakes Office Solutions – 293.93 sup, Rod’s Repair – 752.00 rep., Midwest Lab – 65.00 test, Cardmember Services – 74.84, sup. Cardmember Services – – 28.80, postage. Motion made by Koeppe, seconded by Nice to pay the bills as listed. All present voted aye, motion carried. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Discussion was held sidewalks, nuisance properties, survey results, building maintenance, lagoon, and sewer maintenance.
Dumpsite was discussed. As people keep misusing and putting illegal items there, motion was made by Koeppe, seconded by Nice to lock up the dumpsite and have it open only during designated hours. All present voted aye, motion carried. Village will have someone at the dumpsite during open hours. After hours anyone needed in there must get ahold of Rick, a board member, or the number listed on the sign by the dump.
Motion was made my Koeppe, seconded by Nice to appoint Doug Ellis as the Village of Allen MFO representative. All present voted aye, motion carried.
Discussion was held on water meter that is not working.
We will be having a budget workshop on August 16th at 7 p.m. in the Village Office.
Being no further business, Koeppe made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Nice. All present voted aye, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:14 2p.m. The Board of Trustees of the Village of Allen, Nebraska will meet in regular session at 7:30 p.m. on September 12, 2022 in the Village Office.
